I’d like to introduce the main character’s of the Purple Wagon Series; as well as, a few supporting characters. These animals are all beloved pets that I have had throughout my life. They are still very dear to me and I wanted to find a way for them to bring joy to others as they have already brought joy to my life. The best way I could find was through the purple wagon series. I hope you and your little ones enjoy learning about the real characters of the Purple Wagon Series.
Delilah was adopted by a friend of mine. She found her alone in a cemetery. Delilah blessed my friend with puppies shortly after she was adopted. I was blessed with Delilah a few years later after my friend was unable to keep her due to a move she had to make. She settled right in with the family and brought immediate joy. She was a bit scared of loud noises and she did NOT like to be outside at night. During the day, she LOVED to be outside. Her favorite thing to do was roll around on the ground. She did it so much that her hair would be stained green due to the grass!
Shadow (a.k.a. Ninja Cat) adopted me. She came stumbling out of the cornfield as a tiny kitten. She was very adventurous, always ready to play, especially at night. There wasn’t a bug or mouse safe when she was around. Her favorite thing to do was the sneak attack!
Molly was left on the farm by a group of rabbit hunters. We contacted them and told them we found their dog, but they never came back for her. I am so glad they didn’t. She became my best friend. I would tell her everything from my troubles to my joys of the day. She would curl up in my lap as we sat in the hay in the barn and listen intently. She ended up injuring her front leg and it had to be surgically removed, but that didn’t stop her. She would still fly around the yard. Her favorite thing to do was hunt - she always had her nose to the ground (I’m not a hunter, so she chased rabbits on her own).
Maggie came to me as a very skinny and undernourished dog. We did not know if she was going to make it, but with outstanding veterinary care and lots of love, she pulled through. She ended up developing arthritis in her legs/paws. She could no longer take walks like she used to, so the purple wagon became her mode of transportation, and she loved it. Just look at that happy face! Her favorite thing to do was ride in the purple wagon!
My parents purchased Banana for me around Easter as a gift. She quickly became part of the family. I loved watching her splash around in the pool we made for her. Her favorite thing to do was to go right behind my mom and dig up the flowers she had just planted! It made me giggle and Banana quack. We were partners in crime.
